Adam last month in celebration of its half-decade anniversary, so I thought I’d delve into its modding community to mark the occasion too.Much like the digital empires depicted in-game, many of its mods have risen and fallen since my last visit, however the following list sends the best into battle. Given how involved CK 2 can be at times, I’ve tried my best to link videos where possible so as to properly showcase each mod’s worth.

Step 4: Installing your mod (automatic version) Courtesy of 'evilpdor'
I made a tool for extract/make the descriptor.mod for an easily mod installation.

  1. put StellarisModInstaller.exe on DocumentsParadox InteractiveStellarismod
  2. put modname.zip inside DocumentsParadox InteractiveStellarismod
  3. drag an drop modname.zip on StellarisModInstaller.exe
  4. start game, and select the new mod from launcher.

  • On first launch, StellarisModInstaller creates a config.ini.
  • If you need to, you can force the supported_version line with any other value (default force 1.0.*).
  • If you want to use the mod in folder mode (modnameFolder+modname.mod) modify extract=true (default false)

Requires: .net framework 4.0 or later

HOW TO DO:

Location of Stellaris mods is ->
My DocumentsParadox InteractiveStellarisMod. If there is no Mod folder create it.
  1. Download the archived file for a mod from link provided above.
  2. Archive files are named with numbers like link of the mods on Steam. To see what mods you want look the link mod id and search it in MEGA.
  3. Extract the archive File contents to temporarily folder.
  4. Take the 'Descriptor.mod' file, rename it to <modname>.mod, put it in the Mod root directory.
  5. Edit the .mod file with notepad (or any text editor program),
    edit only this line: (this is just the example of one mod)
    archive='blorg.zip'
    to
    path='mod/blorg'
  6. All other lines leave to be the same. Now save the edited .mod file.
  7. Make new folder in the same Mod root directory and name it the same you edit in 'Descriptor.mod' (in this case 'blorg').
  8. Now place all folders and files if any from temporarily folder to the new folder you will create in the Mod root directory ('blorg' folder).
    This will look like this:
    ModBlorg<mods files and folders>
    Modblorg.mod



FAQ:

  • I can't open the mod the i downloaded - it's a weird file ending with .7z.
    .7z is an archive formate of 7-Zip. Download it from [[Please login to see this link.]] and throw WinRar into the trashcan.

  • Help! The mod i want isn't in the mega library. Am i screwed?
    After making sure, that the mod isn't in the library simply reply to the topic with the link to mod in the steam workshop (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=624408502)
    and i should be added within a day.

  • Welp, the mod is there but i don't think it's the newest version!
    Check the date on the .7z file INSIDE THE FOLDER in the library. If it's newer than the time on steam - you're good to go.
    When a new version is released, it will take some time to upload - have patience.
    If the mod version is still not updated after a day or two post a reply and let me know.


  • When i try to access the library it's getting stuck decrypting!
    Install the official Mega browser plugin (available for Firefox [[Please login to see this link.]] and Chrome [[Please login to see this link.]]) and make a free account on Mega. It will fix those issues most often and allows you to download large files. Plus you can use the nice search feature.

  • When i try to download a file i get 'Temporary Error: Try again'!
    This usually happens if the Mega servers are overloaded. If this errors persists for a specific mod only let me know and we will look it it.

Any chance you can upload the extracted mod, or possibly a screen shot of the files/folders. I tried both methods several times and still can't get it to work. Sorry if it's pain, would be much appreciated.

Im doing the same method i do for stellaris - adding it manually, folder, files, edit file. It doesnt seem to work, cos the mods i have dont show in the launcher. Need to try the tool then..but what does it make different? Its just the same just with scripts.?!
Edit: yeah i tried the tool before and it issnt even starting. Getting KERNELBASE.dll error (windows event viewer) obviously some -.et framework error, tho i have 4.5 installed (on win 10).

Is it too much to ask to share all the newest mods on Steam every day? I know there's a lot right now because the game just got released but after a few days, it should trickle down to about 5 new mods per day.
If not, no worries at all!
